I would just like to say I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and you all got lots of lovely presents...I had a lovely time with family and friends,but I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms as all of my craft stuff had to be packed away and so I've not made anything at all,but believe me it will be straight back out first thing Sunday morning....I must admit I've had a complete rest these last few days, think I needed it after the last few months...My Mum is doing well all things considered, My cousin Betty has had more chemo and bless her through everything she still laughs and asks after everyone else she has one big heart and Ann-Marie her daughter is doing really well,so here's hoping that things continue in 2011 the same...

Sorry I'm so late posting the winner of the Go-Kreate Candy Number 1,but the weather has been awful here today really heavy snow, we went out to try and get sorted for Christmas and got stuck on the A40 which is one of the main roads through Oxfrodshire two lorries had jack knifed on a bit of a hill took blinkin ages for it to get sorted,so the day yet again slipped away.....

Anyway onto this candy...

Something to show you at last.....

Hi Everyone,

At last I've got something to show you,I must admit it's taken me two days to make....I started with really good intentions Thursday to try and spend some time crafting,well you know what happens to best laid plans,Katy not being well and in bed so up and down checking she was ok,friends delivering cards and pressies...Relatives and friends ringing to see how everyone is in hospital,go to hospital and well the day was gone..So yesterday I started again and yep another day of interuptions....

I needed to make my DT card for Pink Gem Designs,but decided to make a Tissue Box cover (Instructions on Splitcoast Stampers) for My Great Neice for her bedroom using the new Ellie with snowdrops stamp.......Pink Gem Designs have  fantastic bargains at the moment like nestabilities at only £15.95 until 2011 so pop over and check them out and all the other fabulous things.....

I've used Promarkers to colour Chloe....The colours I used were...

Skin - Ivory,Blush,Dusky Pink

Hair - Primrose,vanilla,palest yellow

Grass,stems......Pear green

Coat,boots,hairband -  Dusky rose,rose pink,pale pink,baby pink

All the pink card came from the Crafty Gallery and the green glitter card is from my stash......

The flowers have been punched out with Ek success Retro flowers and I used distress ink around the edge of the large ones,then used a woodware punch for the centre,then put a gem in the middle of all of them...

I used one of the Go-Kreate dies to make the panels on the side and for the frame around the opening on the top......

Promarkers Candy Winner....

Hi Everyone,

Yes I'm still around,but still going to hospital....My Mum is doing a lot better the chest infection has gone...Betty my cousin had a blood transfusion yesterday as she was anemic and now she has to have daily injections to boost her white blood count before her next chemo treatment...Ann-Marie is going on alright,still in hospital though...Katy is not well now,we have been to the Doctors this evening and are waiting for results as she may have glandular fever her best friend is really poorly with it she has an enlarged liver,so we have to keep Katy away from everyone at the momentjust in case,I'm just hoping it's the dreaded bug that's going around and will be gone in a few days....

A Gem of A Challenge 11 and Truly Scrumptious Challenge 47.....

Morning Everyone,

At last I'm here with my card for A Gem of a Challenge a big sorry that's it late.....

This month the Lovely Rebekah is hosting and she has this fab sketch for you to follow with the optional extra of 'Distressing'......

I've used one of Pink Gem Designs adorable snowman images I just love them.......

I've used Promarkers to colour the snowman the colours I used were...

Pastel Blue for the edges of the snowman

Blue Pearl for all the gloves,scarf,hat

Tan and berry red for the robin....

I then cut the image out with a Go-Kreate die these are fabulous,and just inked the edge with stormy sky distress ink....then I used walnut distress ink to go around the edge and then glamour dust over the top.....

The papers are Echo Park Wintertime again I've used both sides and a small piece of Magnolia paper,the rest of the card is from my stash.....The snowflake is cut with a Marianne D Die then covered with Glamour dust the same as the icicles,the centre of the snowflake is a Prima flower centre.....The sentiment is also from Pink Gem Designs...Please join in with us for the last challenge of the year......

TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS CHALLENGE 47.......

For this challenge Sharon has given you this brilliant sketch to follow with the optional extra of 'Frame it'...

Here is my card.........

I've used a sweet image from a Kanban set coloured with promarkers the colours used are....

Fur - cinnamon,tan,sandstone,vanilla

skin - ivory,blush,dusky pink

Dress,shoes - blue pearl,powder blue,pastel blue

ground - warm grey 2,satin

hair - pastel yellow,vanilla,primrose

I ran a piece of blue card through an embossing folder and the piece of white card throught the swiss dots folder..The frame is cut with a Go-Kreate die then lifted on some foam tape...

The flowers are cut with a small ek sucess punch with a gem in the middle...The sentiment is from the same set as the image....

Anyway's that's all from me for now.....

Just a quick post as I have so much to do today..I will do a proper post later today for my A Gem of a Challenge card where challenge 11 has started and I also have a card to post for Truly Scrumptious where a new challenge has also started today....Please popover and checkout both challenges,but I've just had a telephone call from the hospital to say my Mum is not too good so I have something to do this morning then I have to go to hospital after that so I'll catch you all later with a proper post....Sorry to both teams,but I really am trying,(I know in both sense's I know) to keep up.....

Cards for Men Challenge 25....And Blog Hop.....

Wow, can you believe it's been a year of challenges over at Cards for Men?

To celebrate we have lots going on with lots of prizes available for you all to win.

There are two challenges this time both with a Christmas theme and we are also having a blog hop to celebrate more about that below.... You can make a card or a present or both, it's up to you. We'll draw a random winner for each category and top 3 as usual......

This is the card I made,it's for a friend who has the real Bah humbug attitude to Christmas so couldn't be more fitting as he always gets in a muddle with his lights every year and the sentiment I thought was just perfect for him.....

I've used one of the new Edwins from Magnolia coloured with Promarkers....

Here are the colours I've used.......

Hair - Cocoa,Cinnamon,Caramel,Tan,Sandstone

Skin - Pastle Pink,Blush,Ivory

Jeans - Denim Blue,Powder Blue,Pastel Blue

Jumper - Marsh Green,Moss,Pear Green

Shoes - Caramel,Tan, Sandstone

Lights - Berry Red,Buttercup,Satin

Ground and shadows - Cool Aqua,Warm Grey 1,2,3,Lamp Black

A touch of Black Polychromos and sansador

Then I've cut the image out with one of my new nesties which I got from Pink Gem Designs...I ran a piece of beige card through a Craft Expression embossing folder they are such good value..The Paper is from last year so sorry don't know who it's by...The string with the lights on was a present from a friend about 2 years ago there was 25m on the roll,it's so great for this time of year and this image...The sentiment is a Cats Life press from Crafty Emma's Store......

I have made a gift bag to go with the card,I made a topper exactly the same as the card to go on the front so it all tied together...I used a length of the lights across the top and used the same red ribbon for the handles....The only other thing I've used are 4 red gem dew drops.I make a lot of these bags for giving gifts as it only takes two pieces of 12 x 12 card and a few folds....

Hi..........

Evening Everyone,

Just quickly dropping by to say Thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts and e-mails about my Mum....The situation at the moment is she was in Trauma and Resuscitation until Thursday night,they did try to manipulate the hip back in to give some relief 3 times but unfortunately it didn't work,so she was transferred to the Orthopaedic Hospital at 11.30pm Thursday night...Friday they did tests and then at 6.30pm Friday night she was taken down to theatre and put to sleep so they could try again to put the hip back,this time it was successful and the pain was eased...But by yesterday morning she had a kidney infection so she was put onto antibiotics,but they caused sickness and a rash all over,when we were there last night they gave an anti-sickness injection and some cream for the rash.....We have just got back this evening and the sickness and rash are not so bad but she now has the start of bed sores on her bottom due to the fact she can't move very much as the hip is unstable...We should know more tomorrow the nurse has said as to what they are planning to do,we do know that the hip socket has worn she had it replaced 23 years ago so it has lasted much longer than was expected.....

A Gift for my Great Niece for Christmas.......

Afternoon Everyone,

Here I am back again with my promised post it's scheduled as I don't know what I'll be doing,worrying myself silly about my Mum and fretting about my Dad as he's worrying about my Mum as well,or we might be at the hospital (see post below to find out what I'm worrying about)....I have made a little gift for my Great Niece for Christmas it can be used either on her bedroom door or as a coaster,it's also another first I've done a photo Tutorial let me know what you think......

What you need.......

A stamp

A Bisque tile brought from my local craft store The Craft Gallery Tel: 01865 391199

I've used Memento ink which worked really well and your choosen colours in promarkers....the colours I've used.....

Skin - Ivory,Pastel Pink,Dusky Pink

Hair - Pastel Yellow,Vanilla,Primrose

Dress - Pale Pink,Pink Carnation,Rose Pink

Grass - Pear Green,Moss,Marsh Green

Flower - Bluebell

Glamour Dust Glitter

 Drys clear glue

Stamp your image on the tile in your choosen position I've used a LOTV image,being careful not to move the stamp,leave to dry for a few minutes to be sure of no smudging

I started to colour her hair firsing,use nice light strokes,you colour the same as you would your card etc

Next I moved on to the skin

As you can see I have a scrap of card by the side of me when I'm colouring just to test colour combinations,

took three attempts toget the combination I liked for her dress,tights and shoes

I decided to have her standing on some grass and her flower is blue for a little contrast,as my Great Niece is a proper little girl who loves pink and glitter,I then just lightly edged her feather boa with pale pink then glittered it.....

And lastly I have used some gold peel off's to do her name..Then it could have a coat of clear varnish but that is a personal choice....Hope you like this...

Hi Everyone,

A REALLY REALLY BIG SORRY for not announcing the winner of my November candy and starting the December one last night but I spent yesterday evening and all of the night at the John Radcliffe hospital...Got home at 5.30am,need to sleep but can't, lots to do.....

The new candy is now at the top of the page.....

I have decided to announce the winner of Novembers' candy in a separate post so that is below.....

Just when I thought things couldn't get anymore awful my lovely dear old Mum had a fall in doors yesterday, late afternoon she has two replacement hips and unfortunately has managed to damage one,it took the two Paramedics over an hour to get her sorted and into the ambulance as she was in so much pain and they were concerned not to do anymore damage,and with 4 steps to both the front and back of their house all covered in ice and with snow everywhere it was a nightmare for them to get her out of the house and into the ambulance safely not only for her but for themselves as well..When I got to the hospital they had my Mum in trauma and resuscitation which was a bit worrying,but apparently because she has heart trouble as well it was the best place,anyway they examined,manipulated,x-rayed about 4 times and have decided that today she will be transferred to another hospital The Nuffield Orthopaedic in Oxford where it looks like she will have to have another hip replacement so not a good outcome,but as you all know things may have changed by the time I get back up there,so as a family we are doing well a family member in nearly all the hospitals in Oxford,sorry if I don't make a joke I'm likely to cry...

When I got the phone call about my Mum I was just in the middle of doing a post so here it is.....
